We encourage volunteers to call ahead of their first
visit to the Farm. (248) 356-2281, or (248) 763-5229.
For the individual, all that is required is to wear appropriate,
comfortable clothing. Remember that we will be in the sun and
most often on our hands and knees. Just come on out
at any time during our work hours and stay as long
as you would like. There really is no
requirement to do anything that you don't feel up
to doing. We enjoy visitors as well !!
For groups, the same thing goes, but we need to consider
logistics as well. The experience can be much more
meaningful when attention can be given to each group member.
Four to six people at a time is best.

Gloves, hand tools (weeders and trowels), kneeling pads,
and stools are generally available
at the farm. If you have favorites, bring them along.
We offer the opportunity to engage in a concrete
hunger action plan activity. Other benefits include the feeling
of comraderie and community by working next to others, and
gaining knowledge of organic gardening methods.
