The Demonstration Bed is a plot, approx. 6' by 20' where we can experiment with different ways of doing things and different varieties of crops. This allows us some experimentation and comparison before putting new (or old) methods, materials, and plants into our production scheme.
None of it will be unorganic, just different.
We may also use some of the produce from this bed, and the herb bed, for sales.
Here we have the bed as of the end of May '08.
At the end of June, we have noticed that plants in the area with
compost/newspaper/mulch layers have performed better
than any other on the Farm.
