9/6 Harvesting

Here are a lot of shots from 7/25 - things are starting
to really grow and we have started harvesting - we are past 60 pounds
given to the hungry, counting today's pickings.

The lettuce has its first direct view of the sun;
we have kept it under a shade fabric since it was planted,
This idea is a keeper!

Our insect-attractant plants are blooming, and the cucumbers seem to like the teepee trellis idea

             Our rain gauge has been regularly overflowing.                           Eggplant, PatyPan Squash, Tomatoes

Bush green beans that Fred planted in early June

A 60 foot row of tomatoes                                                      Our best eggplant yet

Corn is growing well, and our apple trees may bear fruit next year

Jerry picking leaf lettuce

Our day's harvest - cucumbers, beans, peas, strawberries,
tomatoes, lettuce, and summer squash;
we'll weigh it and take it
to Forgotten Harvest in the morning

These young ladies from the Global Hue company
helped on 6/25.  Others had helped on two prior Fridays.

Images from 6/3 - this is an overall shot early in the season.
