The majority of vegetable varieties
will be put into these 8 beds, with a sample of each going
into the Demonstration bed. Below you can see the result of our rotation plan.
Other beds to the west will in the main be one-
or-two crop strip planted, such as for potatoes and corn.
Here are detail 2009 planting setups for the first two beds, A1 and A2.
B3, B4 and J19 through K22 above will be similar, with minor variations.
This is the overall layout of the 2009
Farm site. All of the beds at the bottom and left were
prepared at the end of the 2008 season. A1 through B4 are 4' by 60'.
D7 through F11 are 4' by 48'. F12 through I18 are 3' by 48', and J19 through
K22 are 3' by 60'. After the 4' beds (1 thru 11) were already set up, we
decided that a 3' width is really
much better for the hand tending we do.
